Annie was an RN at Yale New Haven Hospital's St. Raphael Campus in the Surgical ICU. She was the epitome of what it means to be a nurse. She loved her patients and devoted her life to helping others. She was known to always go above and beyond in her role and always had a smile on her face!
Annie was always full of life... Life, love, and the pursuit of anything that created laughter as she would put it! She was a beautiful person both inside and out. Kind, thoughtful, and graceful are just a few words that come to mind for anyone who knew her. She had a knack for making people feel at ease, and knowing what you needed before you did. With a warm heart and open arms, she always put others before herself.
Annie recently had an incidental finding of a large brain aneurysm. She had a procedure to place stents on Thursday August 6th. She spent her post-operative time in the Neuro ICU at YNHH to recover, and initially was doing very well. But, for some reason I don't believe anyone will ever truly grasp, her aneurysm ruptured and just like that, she was suddenly fighting for her life.
Unfortunately, her prognosis was grim; her loving husband and family made the most honorable decision of respecting Annie's wishes and on August 11, 2020, Annie became an organ donor- a true hero. Of course, her last act here on earth was to give herself to others, like she always did!
